SMU Summer Camps: For Kids and Teens

SMU offers a variety of camp programs, including Legos, the arts, athletics and academics.

A variety of camp programs are offered on SMU’s main campus in Dallas as well as in Plano during this upcoming summer season. Kids and teens have the opportunity to participate in athletic programs, learn with LEGO® or explore an interest in engineering. Camp dates range from June 1 to August 9, 2013.

Summer Youth Program at SMU-in-Plano

More than 60 one-week workshops for students in fun and enriching subjects including LEGO® camps, science, creative arts and music programs.

Hispanic Youth Leadership Academy (H.Y.L.A.)

Provides an intensive and long-term mentoring experience focused on ministry calling and an annual summer academy to consider issues such as Christian discipleship, vocational discernment, leadership training, development of academic skills, the doctrine and policy of The United Methodist Church, how to apply for admission to college or seminary, how to find support on campus and Hispanic history and culture.

Hilltop Sports Camp promotes a well-rounded recreational and athletic experience for campers including activities on the climbing wall, in the fitness studios, on the intramural fields, and in the swimming pool.

Elite Camp

A high intensity camp that challenges players mentally and physically. Campers must be motivated and ready to work. Includes strength and conditioning, position-specific drills, moves and footwork. Girls will be put on teams and play full court games to incorporate what they learn.

SMU Mustang Swim Camps

The SMU camp offers a low camper to coach or counselor ratio, allowing the campers a unique opportunity for individual attention from Olympic coaches, Olympic medalists, and NCAA All-Americans. One of the most important aspects of this camp is the focus on having fun while working hard, learning new skills and becoming better swimmers.
