DALLAS -- George Washington's personal copy of "Acts of Congress," which includes the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and other legislation passed by the first session of Congress, will be on display at SMU's DeGolyer Library July 14-27.

The 106-page volume is emblazoned with Washington's bookplate and includes his handwritten notes in the margins, according to a press release from the university.

The display will be part of the summer exhibit, "Hail to the Chief: American Presidential History in Word and Image," at the library July 14-Sept. 20.

DeGolyer Library is "Acts of Congress'" ninth stop on a seven-month, 13-stop tour; the exhibit is sponsored by the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

George Washington's "Acts of Congress" is one of only 30 known copies. The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association purchased it for $9.8 million at an auction last year.
