'GCB' preview draws a hometown crowd

SMU alumnus wins an Academy Award for Best Animated Short.

SMU alum  William Joyce and Richland Hills High School grad Brandon Oldenburg had bragging rights to some of the more unusual designer clothing at the Oscars when they picked up the Academy Award for Best Animated Short. Those thick-twill tuxedos were made by Fort Worth-based Dickies, known for its line of work clothes. The firm used special black twill from its line of work pants.

When the custom tuxedos were delivered, Oldenburg immediately tweeted a photo of the interior tag that read “Size Med shirts for Oscar nominees. 2-15-12.”

“Can you say bespoke???!!!” Oldenburg added.

The two men picked up the Oscar for their film, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore....
