SMU’s Meadows Museum celebrates 10 years with bold exhibition

For those who appreciate fine art, Southern Methodist University offers a jewel just a few minutes north of downtown Dallas. It’s the Meadows Museum, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in its present location with an exhibition titled “Ten Works, Ten Years: Collection Highlights at the New Meadows Museum.” In March 2001, the Meadows moved from Owen Arts Center into its lavish home, funded with a donation from the Meadows Foundation. To celebrate the decade, the Meadows features such selections as Richard Worsam Meade by Vicente López y Portaña and King Charles II by Juan Carreño de Miranda. Nineteenth-century landscapes by artists such as Joaquín Sorolla and Aureliano de Beruete are also included.
