Celebration of Lights rings in the holiday season

SMU's Celebration of Lights on December 4 kicks off the holiday season with singing, reading of the Christmas Story and lighting the Main Quad with 100,000 lights.

SMU's Celebration of Lights kicks off the holiday season with the lighting of the campus Christmas tree and Main Quad with more than 100,000 lights on Sunday evening, December 4.

Join the celebration to sing songs of the season, enjoy live performers and hear the Christmas story read by SMU President R. Gerald Turner.

Hot chocolate, apple cider and cookies will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. and the Celebration starts at 7 p.m.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center Ballroom and simulcast in the HTSC Theater.

The holiday tradition is sponsored by the SMU Student Foundation.
