MEMPHIS — Ending 25 years of football futility at SMU? For coach June Jones, place a big, fat check mark next to that challenge. But what comes next may be almost as hard.
Now it's time to win again win bigger, win more.
In previewing the upcoming season at Sunday's Conference USA Media Day here, Jones revealed:
- The Mustangs will throw the ball even more with the progression of sophomore quarterback Kyle Padron.
- He's confident questions on defense will be answered.
- He continues to market his program to the Dallas community.
Yes, SMU faithful, Jones seemed to say, it's OK to have expectations.
